Getting in Close

Photographic experimentation is good to help boost my creativity.
With that in mind, these photos were fun to shoot. Getting in close to ordinary things is interesting.
So the above photos exist because I wanted to try the macro mode on my Ricoh GR III.
And I liked the results, so I shot a few more.
Again, for no other reason than to try out the macro mode and see what I got.
So I guess that confirms the main point. Experimentation makes me a better photographer.
For instance, the photos in this post gave me a few minutes of fun. They are not meant to be part of my usual output.
But, they matter because they are experiments.
And I find that the more I try different things, the more creative I am. That’s more creative in my main genres (street and urban photography).
So, whether it’s getting in close, shooting natural landscapes or whatever…
Experimentation is a good thing.
